Elm Vale Cottage Pedigree Pig Herd

The Elm Vale Cottage Pedigree Pig Herd of Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs is registered with the BPA (British Pig Association) and we breed pedigree pigs for both meat and supplying weaners for breeding stock.  Our pigs are kept outdoors in arks in large penned areas.   During the summer months we run weaners in the woodlands whilst they grow.  Our registered pedigree stock consists of Harrison, the boar, and three Princess sows.

Because of an unfortunate injury we bottle fed ‘Squeaker’, a Spotworth, for 6 weeks before returning him successfully to his mother and siblings.

In addition to our pedigrees pigs we also have Old Spot and Tamworth sows that we breed for meat.  We also have Old Spot /Tamworth cross bred pigs (that we refer to as ‘Spotworths’)
